Don't flaunt your vintage camera on the plane!

Another site said the camera was a Canon F-1. Regardless, I think there must be a lot more to this story than what’s been reported. The flight attendant or pilot could have (should have) walked by to look at the item in question, as it’s not likely the passenger was hiding it. More than likely they, as well as most people, would’ve recognized it as a camera.

I wonder if there was some sort of verbal exchange that actually got the camera owner in trouble.

I’d like to find a definitive description of what happened.

By the way, I did use my 553 ELX yesterday to photograph aircraft taking off near the end of a runway. Since the runway I was at was used less frequently than others, I had to monitor the ATC frequency to get advance notice of when a plane was cleared for takeoff on my runway - that gave me time to get out of the car and set up for the photo.

Yep.
The defining features of all "Karens"
- Zero introspection
- Small brain
- Big mouth
- Humungous sense of entitlement and undeserved self worth

In locked down 2020/1 Victoria (Aust.), there was a real "Karen" who, when caught a fair bit outside her area, apparently felt the restrictions didn't apply to her as she had walked all around her suburb.

That's our "Karen" who seems to match your description. (It was reported she went interstate).
