Pherdinand
the snow must go on
Yes there's no typo in the title.
In the weekend i was lying on my back in the grass in a park, with my girlfriend, and i had one of my yashica gsn's w me. She kinda liked it, like she shows some interest in all the cameras i have. I must say i did not know so far, how genuine that was.
Anyway, i explained to her about the rangefinder and the self-timer of the yashica, and that i have a bit too many cameras and i should sell some.
-How many?
-Well, let's see... [...some calculus...] about nine or ten, including a non-working example. Some of these are really similar.
-That's cool, but do you need money???
-Nope, it's not for the money but you know, i can't really use them all, it's a shame to let them rot without use and why should i have so many.
-Yeah, but still, i like this hobby of yours, i think it's a great thing, especially that you try to restore the non-working ones. I know nothing about them, but i love it when you explain those things to me (note: she has a manual minolta slr system which she uses very efficiently. Guess where that came from.). And they are all nice cameras, you really should not sell them!
Now what can i say after such a discussion.
By the way, when my four classics were stolen from the house, she almost bought me a rolleiflex as a surprise-present, which she spotted in a shopcase in Budapest. It was of course overpriced like all these classics over there, luckily she was unsure if it's the 'correct one to get'.
