Well, what can I say, but Vive la Kodachrome. And a major tip of the Hatlo to KM-25 for this.
I have a color project that's been gathering dust for quite some time, and I've been threatening to dust it off for the last year or two. MIght be dusting it off sooner than planned.

It's a great film, although I've only shot one roll so far. Some of the results are on my Flickr gallery (landscapes of Angel Peak), but they were shot with an SLR (I didn't want to blow the exposure on any when I was paying almost 70 cents a frame inc. processing)

Yep, it is a great film. Here are a couple of shots from one of Denver's snowy days
The first one, of the folks at the bus stop, I was waiting to be seated in a restaurant and I saw all of the people lined up. The exposure was one second at 1.4 with my 50 aspheric. I had no tripod so I butted the lens up against the window and held my breath.
The second one is just funny, the car is a mess and it really speaks of what a heck a Winter Denver has had, again with the 50 Lux Aspheric.

3 Cheers also for Kodachrome also!!!
3 Cheers also for Kodachrome also!!!
Been shooting Kodachrome since 1975 and really love it. Sharp and crisp like a minnesota winter. Just went to order another 10 rolls at B&H but they were out so ordered from Dwaynes in Kansas and have decided to order all my K 64 from them from now on as they are the only one processing it now. Might as well give them all the business as they are the only ones taking care of our beloved KODACHROME
Maby if we buy our k64 from them will help them to stay in business longer. Do I here an Amen?

An Amen you got! How much is Dwayne's getting for a roll of 64 these days?
I am surprised B&H ran out, they have over 600 rolls of 200 left.
Hmmm....You know that Kodak stop making KL-200 and did not tell the public, right? I sure as heck hope they don't do this with 64. Dwaynes has said in ads that is intends to process Kodachrome for at least 3 more years.

Assuming Kodak abruptly stops producing Kodachrome, how long there after will it's users be able to get it developed? How will this impact the vast hoards some people are holding on to?
Curious.

Hmmmm ... I'm very curious to know when and where that "deadline" appeared.
This is the very first I've ever heard of any deadline or cut-off of either Kodachrome production/availability or of processing.
Several months ago when I and a co-worker were speculating on this, I phoned Dwayne's and they assured me, very convincingly, that there were no plans in the works to discontinue Kodachrome processing.
If the target of three years has been set (three years from when?) this almost implies that they know when the Powers That Be of Big Yellow plan to stop Kodachrome production.
Any further info on this?

DMR: I don't see that as a deadline ... KM quotes them as saying "at least" 3 more years. Sounds like they are saying that "even if EK were to discontinue K64 right now, there is enough business for us to continue processing for 3 years" (relative to the date they made the statement) ... or something close. JMO.
BTW, someone squashed your avatar.

It was my understanding that processing would be supported at least to the date of expiration, of the last film produced.Sailor Ted said:Assuming Kodak abruptly stops producing Kodachrome, how long there after will it's users be able to get it developed? the National Camera in Golden Valley MN still mails out Kodachrome 64 and 200 for K14 developing with an 8-10 day turnaround time. Not sure exactly where it goes, but it does come back!

Great stuff! You need to fix the site tough, since it works badly with Firefox and I'm unable to read portions of it.KM-25 said:i finally got the website for the Kodachrome Project fully up and running.

I just purchased 10 rolls of reg Kodachrome 64/36exp for 6.84 per roll and I really like how they treat you as a customer.

KM-25: congratulations on your website, I am sure your project will be a great success and I am looking forward to seeing more. The photo of the old man on the first page is hauntingly beautiful.
I will be shooting almost exclusively Kodachrome for colour from now on. I just received back a roll of KL-200, in record ten days time. Remember, the trip from the UK is first to Lausanne, Swtizerland, then to Dwayne's and then all the way back. I shot the film with my Yashica 35, a camera I will now dedicate to using with Kodachrome alone.
In the UK you can buy still the stuff from sevendayshop.com. It costs around £6.00 and that includes the cost of processing. If you are patient enough with the roundabout trip you are rewarded with outstanding colours.
In that latest roll I received I was flubbergasted by the performance of Kodachrome 200 even at low light and for its good tungsten balance (see attachments for a few of test shots I did). It is proving hard to scan though.
I am ordering another ten rolls.

The turn around in the UK seems to be about 3 weeks. I have one 25 ASA left.
It needs to be scanned like a B&W (grainy) film not like a chromogenic film the scanner manual may help.

I can tell which of my lenses is real good and that I need to use a mono pod...
