Well something bad had to happen on my travels, yep my girlfriend and I have split up. So with great sadness I've left South Africa as part of my world trip. I'm getting my head together and i'm now heading to the good old USA (my carbon footprint must be massive now). I'm flying in to New York on the 3rd of Oct and then going to take the train across to San Fran via Denver before heading down to Mexico. If anyone wants to go out shooting in New York, Chicago and San Fran let me know as it would be great to meet some RFF members from the otherside of the pond. Also if anyone can give me tips on what to see and very cheap places to stay that would be a great help.

Sam, it would be helpful to know roughly when you think you will be in each city as that would make it much easier to try and coordinate a local gathering.

When I was a callow youth, my girlfriend who had previously agreed to marry me, broke up with me rather suddenly. I was hearsick. A man I chanced to meet told me things had a way of working out for the best. It sounded pretty weak at the time, but he was right. Not long after that I found other women in the world and it seemed life wasn't so bad after all.

Hope it will be the same for you.

You should have an interesting trip across the States. Any idea who long it will take. Just before I entered the Army, my mother and I went from the midwest to Los Angeles. I met a Frenchman in the Southwest who was astounded at the size of our country. I think he had been on the train about 5 or more days at that point. Even from the train there should be interesting photo ops.

Hi there,

yes sorry I forgot about the dates,
New York from the 3rd of Oct for 5 days.
Then Chicago for 4 days from the 9th of Oct.
And that is as far as I've got at the moment. I want to go to the Rockys from Denver and would like to spend a week around there before heading to Cali and working my way down to Texas and then in to Mexico.

I think i'll be in the States for well over a month, i like to take my time you see. It would be great to meet up with some RFFs.

As for girls, they are weird creatures. I give up with them.

Hey Sam just let us know when you have a better idea when you'll be in the San Francisco area and we'll see if we can gather up some of the local members to share a beer and camera talk.

Hey that sounds great, working it out I hope to be in the area about the 20th of Oct, I need to be in LA for Halloween, my friend is dressing me up as a Mongolian Yak. You lot do love your Halloween!
