Dp1 Quattro lvf-01 viewfinder

It is a bit big..but I don't think it is any bigger than the hoodman I saw on a different forum on a Merrill. Since I have a dp2q as well as the Merrill, I was thinking about ordering one one of these days..

omg! with that on how is this more convenient than a conventional dslr? i dont even understand how that thing would hang on ones body via a neck or shoulder strap...

It is still maybe lighter than a dslr (my guess until I try it myself)..It does not need to be on the camera all the time. I have been using the LCD plus ovf since the dp2 Merrill was released.

I use a DP2M and DP3M with a Hoodman loupe. It's definitely a good deal lighter than a DSLR and much easier to put into a small messenger bag. I haven't tried it with the DP2Q. The M + loupe arrangement isn't very difficult to work with, it lays flat, at least to some extent, across my chest when hanging from a neck strap. I often rest a hand on it to keep it from swinging around, but I tend to do that with most small cameras anyway. The advantages of being able to get critical focus and very good stability for hand holding make it quite useful. It also effective at keeping out the sun.

That being said, it doesn't add to the speed of operation, but that's not particularly a Merrill strength...
