24.6mm. DOF is dependent on the actual focal length of a lens, regardless of the angle of view.
The same thing happens when you move to larger film formats, if you shoot with a 135mm lens on a 4x5, you have approximately the same angle of view as a 35mm lens on 35mm film, but still the shallower depth of field of a 135mm lens.

The focal lenght to consider is 41mm, but with a circle of confusion of (only) 0.018 mm; this is the reason of the corresponding shallower digital DOF.

There is a lot of misinformation regarding this, but it's quite simple really, a combination of two effects:
1) DOF increases non-linearly with decreasing (physical/actual) focal length
2) DOF decreases linearly with decreasing size of medium/sensor. This is reflected by a different CoC, typically, and reflects the fact that a smaller sensor needs more enlargement to get to the same print size.
For example, at the same focus distance, due to 2), the same lens will have less DOF on the Leica M8 than on the M7.
Best is to use dofmaster, pick the right sensor size (it has SD14 in the drop down menu) and actual physical focal length of the lens (24 or 25mm).
Best,
Roland.

Thank you guys for your answers. Below some info taken from dofmaster. Focused at 3 meters.
a)DP2_24mm_f2.8=dof 1.7 m
b)Rd1s_24mm_f2.8=dof 1.93m
c)5d_24mm_f2.8=dof 3.26 m
d)35mm_24mm_f2.8=dof 3.26m
e)Rd1s_28mm(cvultron)_f2.0=dof 0.93 m
Do you know why b has shallower dof than c and d?
bye

I think you need to take into account the corresponding FOV equivalent at a set aperture to make such a comparison : so a valid comparison at f2.8 in the 40mm-43mm rangeThank you guys for your answers. Below some info taken from dofmaster. Focused at 3 meters.

a) DP2 24mm f2.8 = dof1.7m
b) RD1 28mm f2.8 = dof1.37m
c) 5d 40mm f2.8 = dof0.85m
which means smaller sensor, more DOF at equivalent FOV and aperture

If you get the chance, borrow or rent a DP2 for a day. I bought one and had it for about a month before I sold it.
The FOV was to tight for me to be able to use a view finder on the street or anywhere for that matter.
With my M's, I used a 35 most times and almost never used the RF but with a 50mm, I almost always had to actually focus....the same thing happened with the DP2...
I prefer the DP1 but am waiting for the E-P1 to get in my neck of the woods....
that might just be the camera I've been waiting for....
good luck in your journey....shooter
