Hi, i´ve seen there´s a new sigma dp2 and dp1 with merrill surname.

I´m glad because the dp2 has a 30mm lens so 45mm fov, i wasn´t very happy about the x100 and x1 being 24mmm fov 35mm

I liike best this 30mm option

By the way has anyone seen in person this new camera or has heard about it´s release date and price?

Any new is most welcome!!!!

Bye!

With the new X3 sensor of the SD1, no internal flash, significant larger (thicker) body than previous DPs, and finally a new screen instead of the woeful 230k one.

Expect a hefty price tag and people screaming "no EVF?!!".

It should have superb IQ but the price might be eye watering when it's finally announced. We shall see!

The SD1 sample images give a clue as to the IQ to be expected out of the DP1 and DP2. With colour information recorded at each pixel location and no AA filter, I would expect b&w capability to be very good, assuming the lens and internal signal processing is up to the task.. these might turn out to be desirable cameras for b&w compact shooters.
Merrill appears to be the name given to the reduced price version of Sigma cameras with the X3 sensor.
I hope Sigma learn from the pricing debacle of the SD1. The SD1 Merrill is now advertised at $2299 body only on Sigma's own site http://www.sigmaphoto.com/shop/sd1-merrill-digital-slr-camera. It would be nice if these compacts were in the same pricing ballpark as cameras like the NEX7 with lens.

From what I understand...

This is one of Dick's early creative engineering projects. The MA-12 6V6 PP mono audio amplifier.

The latter "E" was replaced with an "I" during latter years to give the Merrell name finesse... hence, Merrill.

Looks a lot like a David Bogen db10, or a grommes, or a Bell amplifier . . . all popular in the monophonic days. Two 6v6s in push-pull, with a 5Y3 rectifier.
