Well, the good news is that the lens is super. I can see why people say this is the best built Leica lens. My example is very nice. But.....
The goggles are misaligned. When I put them on the lens the RF patch image is well below the alignment of the VF image. Big bummer.
Any suggestions as to how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

I just did a little experiment, this makes sense I think. It seems the little window is that is out of alignment. I just spent 10 minutes putting the windows in front of my eyes to see how they adjust my field of view. There is definately a shift from the little window, which I think makes sense since I think it is the rf patch that is mis-aligned.

Hi Rover, I sold my DR because it does not fit the CLE (no not because of the goggles, because of the second focusing rim in the camera).
The little round window has a screw mount. Unscrew it and you can rotate the glass just like with a Russian rangefinder. Then you can perfectly align the both projections and check with the image at the focal plane.
good luck, Rob.

Thanks Rob.
I did unscrew the housing on the round window and was able to align the patch pretty well. It isn't perfect, but it it appears to be close enough to work. The proof will be in the prints as they say.

Hi Rover, glad to hear that. Just fiddle some more with it and it will be perfect. You just have to imagine that especially in close focus the two superimposed images will never fully overlap. Different perspective!
