Wouldn't it be nice if Canon were to come out with a digital RF, let's call it the 7D, with a full-frame sensor like on the 5D, in M-mount? And make it a black one. They could even give us TTL and aperture priority too! They may be the only firm that currently has the technology to do all this. How about $3K?
They could also reissue the 50/0.95 in M-mount -- I have seen on this forum that some people have had this lens successfully converted to M-mount.

Well, side-to-side, given an equal quality of construction, and at even the same price as the 5D (and asuming I could afford it, of course) I'd simply go for the RF version as I could have a lot of fun using all my old LTM glass.

I like SLRs and they are great for 'field' work, but for the daily up and down in the city, I prefer a RF in my bag.

I think they should simply restart 7s production, with it available in either film or digital versions. M mount might be a better idea than only LTM, but they need to be sure to have the external bayonette either way... 🙂

A RF with the sensor of the 5D? That would really be great, however it could really deliver the coup of grace to Leica.

Other than using TTL and not the external meter, make the finder (RF) in x1.0, have second one (VF) for 28mm, 35mm (like a SP) with a 1 degree spot metering on that, even unlink with the shutter, ie, no AE for the spot metering (we don't even need AE from the main TTL)...

That, with my lenses, and a 1960 Alfa Romeo Spider "with boat tail" (and a 65 sqm apartment in north east N.T. in Hong Kong)

... would be my heaven on earth!

I was thinking about it and, were I designing it, I'd keep the originals analog readout on the top deck while putting it in the vf as well. Perhaps even use the same placement for the sensor with a second one for TTL? The big thing though is to have the full frame sensor; wouldn't that be fun with the 50/.95?

I have often wonder why Leica couldn't designe a digital back for cameras like the M3. By taking the barn door off.then you ccould just switch out.. Kinda like a Graflock back.shooting 120 on a 4x5..
