Drone + RX100 II + Chase Jarvis = Disaster

I love the stuff taken from those Phantoms and the GoPro's but wow, that is just a lot of money to sink. Made my heart sad to see both items go down.

There was a story on CNN yesteday about some small town in Utah that's putting to vote a measure intending to authorize citizens the right to shoot down "drones" that come within a thousand or so feet of their property. I suspect the Feds might have a different feeling, though.

I remember "back in the day" (i.e. before the phrase "back in the day" was coined) when there were model airplane hobbiests, not drone-sporting pseudo-terrorists.

For Sale: "Like New Minty Sony A7, lite buckshot marks on packaging".

Suspect the manufacturers send Chase new stuff because of the exposure, whatever commercial jock tog gets as many views?

I wouldn't be surprised if he just chalked it up on insurance. He does well enough that loosing a grand's worth of gear and making a self promotional video with good potential for exposure would probably be a minor bump in the road.

I remember that as well, back in the 1960's and 1970's, but at least where I lived there were very tight restrictions on where you were allowed to fly those. You couldn't fly them in residential neighborhoods, and you had to have a license to fly them.

Is that Amazon thing really gonna happen, or is that just some pipe dream of the owner. I'd be all for shooting those things down.

Best,
-Tim
