dropped by the old camera store today...

I did too, but I went with the intent of buying some trix. They had plenty, at $5.25 a roll, so I left with a handful. I did look at a bag though.

"dropped by the old camera store today..."

Is that a new thing that is only found in Canada?

We no longer have any real camera stores, yet when I moved here 8 years ago there were at least 6.

If you want to to remain in business I suggest you go back and buy something.:D

I drop in on mine regularly to say hello to the guys.

Sometimes they have a gem for me to restore (last time it was an Asahiflex).

I went yesterday to pick up my developped rolls of Velvia. Tried the fuji 55-200mm, it is tempting, although I am not really into zoom lenses... I always buy from real stores...

I dropped by my nearest store (100 kilometers away) this past Wednesday. Lusted after an old, black Heiland Pentax, a chrome Nikon F2 body and an absolutely mint Canon Vt rangefinder, but left with (only) a roll of 35mm Porta 400 film. I'm proud of myself.

I dropped by the old camera store the other day (good one in Dallas-- tons of used equipment), and decided I needed an Omega D2 Enlarger. It's capable of 4x5, and I recently have some 4x5 negatives. Anyway, the Omega is a beast. I didn't realize how big it was in the shop (because of the surrounding clutter), but when I got it home, realized it's huge. Very nice Condenser lenses. Stands about 4 feet tall. With a Mamiya Sekor 50mm f/1.8 lens. $75.

Dropped by one of the two camera stores left in town today, with the intention of hitting the second one right after. Got a surprise to see the regular Saturday employee of #2 now employed at #1 (I'd been out of town the last couple of weekends). Turns out the owner of the second store is retiring -- so I need to get over there and see what bargains there might still be, and while I'm at it retrieve several cameras I'd left there on consignment....

And then there was one. But it's a good one, and seems to have a healthy business. They do C41 on premises, including medium format. Invested in an excellent printer a couple of years ago. Www.Camerabar.com.

There's one of them "real camera store" thingies within 100 miles of me but they are getting rid of their film/wet darkroom stuff. Picked up some real bargains. Don't know what I'll do when they're gone....

...on my way home from shooting & left without buying a thing!

just sayin'...

Not what I was expecting...

I placed a bid on a darkroom item...watched someone outbid me five minutes later...left it alone...was surprised no one else bid on it when it ended...
Kinda like going to a camera store and not buying anything...

What keeps me out of the camera store is the fact it's 45 miles away, and I only buy two tanks of gas a month.

we have a small, locally owned chain of stores here...one main (pro) store with several other stores in various parts of town.
plus at least another store that i can think of.

lucky we...

Yeah, me too, i went in today for a bottle of T-Max developer. I left with a bottle of T-Max developer--and a $280 carbon fiber tripod. Well, I'm sure I needed it.
