Dropped cameras. Not too worried but should i?

Had my Leica MP, Zeiss Ikon and nikon FE 2 in my Domke F6 with all padding removed.

Leica MP and ZI wrapped in Domke wrapper with a top opening.

The whole bag slid and fell from about 2 feet from a chair on to a wooden floor and ladded on the top side of my Domke F6.

Cameras seems to be functioning well. Pictures not developed yet.
I am not too worried but should I?
RF patch seems to be well aligned BUT i have not seen nor do i know how a RF misalignement looks like...............

Care to advice?

I've dropped a lot of cameras further than that, no bag.

You'd need to be UNBELIEVABLY unlucky.

Check alignment @ infinity.

I wouldn't worry until you see the pics. If the pics are fine, in all likelihood the cameras are fine. After all, they're designed to be tools meant for field use, not decorations for the shelf.

At least that's what the folks who designed them intended. I think far too often we end up coddling them like china dolls. That's not meant to encourage abuse of the equipment. But the ordinary bumps and bangs of regular use shouldn't be destructive.

I've dropped my M8 onto a table at 1ft. Slipped out of my hands.
My M8 also fell from waist height onto grass when the strap came undone.

I dropped my M9 when it slipped out of my hand as I was kneeling. Fell about 2ft onto a wooden floor.

My Nikon D2x fell about 5 feet off a tripod onto a ceramic tile floor. A piece of metal broke off.

All of them work perfect.

Roger: Will check the RF patch infinity when i get home later.

I use my cameras with care but i definitely don't baby them. Bring them trekking with me so there is some scratches here and there which i am not too fussed about.

Long as i can take good pictures with them (and i still have much to learn =P)

Damn, please don't get a job handling explosives.

Regarding the original post, I doubt the cameras will suffer any problems. The cameras were in a bag. Just check the accuracy of the rangefinder.

My M7 fell from the table about four feet high on to concrete flooring,
and dented the hell out of the top plate. The shutter was stuck open, so a i
turned the switch off then on again and the shutter closed.
That was two years ago and everything is fine.

I agree to the above post about built as tools.
It's one tough camera!
