Dropped my Nikon 1v1 today.
Similar sort of height & pavement composition (& location) to where I dropped my Leica M8. Idiot!
The result, some chips off the paint near battery door.
Chip off end of door catch, still works OK.
Camera seems fine, all works OK.

Leica cost £900 to repair!

So you've dropped two cameras in the same spot?

This is where plastic stands above metal. Plastic has some flexibility, while a metal bodied camera doesn't. And I think that the rangefinder components are more fragile when compared with an electronic viewfinder.

My friends who fly radio control airplanes tell me there are localized areas of intense gravity that will pull your airplane out of the sky. I think it happens to cameras too. Joe

Not only planes and cameras. Same happens to cash! After passing by I realize I've dropped it on pavement, literally.

My local Bermuda Triangle just happens to be right outside my house.
Maybe I should move.
Camera seems to be none the worse for its fall.
I do have a spare body.
So cheap it was a shame not to buy it!

It went down again Wednesday.
Not from so high, & onto a Drain cover this time.
Lens first. A bit more gone off the Battery door latch.
But it still works fine.

Well, my personal Bermuda Triangle is RFF where mysteriously causes dropping cash big time way too often. Money just disappears and some toys pop up at my doorstep.
