Hello Friends,

Have managed to lube the chain drive on my lovely Drug rangefinder camera and it seems to wind smoothly. If I wind it on either with the bottom cover on or off, it seems to take one full pull across the gate to advance the film and a second short pull to cock the shutter. I have only been able to find an instruction manual in Russian and cannot get an accurate translation. It is driving me mad not knowing if it is working right. It is a lovely camera which I would really like to use. If any members are using a Drug now please give me a shout🙂.

Thanks a lot

It should only take one, but I just thought of something I forgot to mention in the PM I sent you about this -- if there's too much slack in the chain, one pull may not be enough.

Did you take the chain off when you were cleaning everything? If so, when you put it back on, did you take up all the slack in the drive gear (the thing that gets turned when you pull the chain) before you put the chain over it? If you didn't, the first part of the chain pull may be getting wasted taking up the slack in the winding gears, forcing you to add a second short pull to finish cocking the shutter.
