Hio, got a storage question. First off, im here in Chongqing, China. A horrid place for cameras and things metal. The humidity here is always near 80-100% and this time of year its about 36-40C every day. On top of that we have a dust problem that is a nightmare.

Anyway, because of all that I keep everything in a dry box that has one of those little rechargable dehumidifier blocks. The problem is that I have to recharge it every other day to keep the humidity in the box under 50%

Anyone out there ever tried those little plastic tubs that has the white stuff and the paper on the top to collect water out of the air in a dry box?

A little warrning on the lable said that it contained Calcium Chloride and that the water afterwards becomes alkaline so im not sure if its safe for keeping in the box with cameras and film but I gota figure out something because its too humid here and I dont have the money right now to drop on one of those plug in fridge type dry boxes.

Calcium Chloride? yikes Even though it is not toxic or anything it can be messy since it is delisquesent.

If you can buy a few Silica pouches, use them and dry them in the oven afterwards (100-110C for a few hours)
