Well-known
hi all,
I'm looking for a video camera, with our baby's arrival.
I'm considering whether to go with
1. a pure video cam
2. a dslr with video capability
3. a digicam with video (eg. Ixus 100is)
I don't expect to use video much, apart from recording baby's first moments. I think i'm still more a 'photos' person than video.
what do you suggest?
important considerations are
1. portability
2. quality of images and video
3. ease of use - to record and playback
4. price
for DSLRs, I'm thinking Panasonic GF1 with 20/1.7 and Pentax KX with DA40 pancake. Are they good options based on my criteria above?
I've already got a pentax k200d with kit zoom lens, manual takumars 50/1.4, 200/4, Af360 flash, rechargeable batteries, etc. So things can be swapped around interchangeably with a KX, unlike other options i'm considering. But then again, it's not very portable - not in the pocketable sense.
