Can someone tell me, or point me to a faq that tells me how to insert a picture into a forum message? :bang:

I can't seem to figure it out (duh!).

Thanks,

Warren

Depends on where you want to host the image from.

What I generally do it upload the photo to my Flickr account. I bought my account, but you can get one for free if you wish. Once the photo is uploaded there and marked as public, I click on it. There is a line below the photo that shows the URL of the photo.

Then I click on the 'image' icon on the thread on RFF and it gives me a box in which to paste a URL. I paste in the URL I copied from Flickr, and Bob's your uncle.

EDIT: To be more correct, I also usually highlight the URL I just created in the step above and then click on the "Link" icon and add in the URL of the Flickr page, not just the image itself. That creates a link back to Flickr if someone clicks on the image. This is according to Flickr rules, which I try to respect.

Thanks for the reply. That's how I thought it should work. Then I looked at the forum where I wanted to insert a picture (regional clubs), and I realized that the "insert image" icon is missing. I guess that feature is turned off in that forum?

I was going nuts trying to figure out where the feature was hiding when it wasn't there at all :)

Okay, I can successfully insert a picture from my picture hosting place, but I still can't figure out how to insert a link so that the picture will appear on the post, and will link back to the hosting site. hmmmm. what am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Warren

You have to use the "img" image code feature, like this code from my Photobucket site:

[ I M G ]http://i570.photobucket.com/albums/ss141/jvcabacus/GoldenHalf008.jpg[/I M G ]

Just take the spaces away between the letter "IMG" and it will imbed your photo into your post, like thus:
