I feel like a dork asking these simple questions around experts like y'all haha. Sorry. My question: Does the Konica C35 Automatic's light meter supposed to be on all the time?
Here you go. This should help hopefully.
Cheers

Supposedly in flash mode it should be off as shutter speed is fixed to 1/30 or maybe 1/60. In many cameras flash mode works also as "Meter OFF" switch.

Insufficient information
With CdS meters, the light sensor is a cell that changes resistance when exposed to light. The resistance is the highest when dark so it's very much like a switch in the 'off' position.
