In 1999 I traded Leicaflex SL and SL2, both with recent DAG CLAs, plus 28/2.8, 50/2, and 90/2.8 2-cam lenses for one Sony FP3.

http://www.steves-digicams.com/d770.html Full 1344 x 1024 pixel images!

I never made an acceptable photo with the FP3, even accounting for the low resolution, the thing simply could not focus or meter correctly.

It was my last Sony purchase.

I just found slides from the Leicaflexes that I can distinguish from the Nikons, it was a pretty amazing camera system. Boy I was dumb!

Voigtlander Bessa II 6x9 with apo-lanthar lens , for Pentax H1a, many years ago. I got more good pix out of the Pentax but the Bessa with that lens is today worth up to $4G.

I traded a Leica M4 for a Nikon F3. I'm back into Leica. The only Nikon's I own now are their RF's, F and F2.

Wow, my heart goes out to Jack To, trading an APO Lanthar Bessa II away.

A canon40D+some$ to a canon50D regretted the decision until the day I sold the camera.
An M5 for a lot of WWII memorabilia, provided the lot is now worth 2-3x the going price of the M5, it was a cool camera.

The new Sony's are quite good preformers. I have 2 flickr contacts that the Sony's they both had rendered better photo's than their now Nikon DSLR's. Especially with Minolta Rokkor lenses. MOF my avatar was taken by one of my contacts with a Sony DSLR.

1999 digital was still going through it's infant stages & very expensive. Like the 1st Microwave ovens.😀

LOL. 😛 I feel for you. I traded a Tri-Elmar for two VC lens a few years ago. What a dummy.

About 15 years ago I traded 2 Pentax MG's (with Winders) and a black Nikon FG for one almost new in the box Yashica Mat 124G...at first a I thought I blew it but the prints I developed last week again confirm I did the right thing...The 124g is one camera I'll never get rid of...

Frank 2.0, I feel your pain. Go get yourself another SL -- pretty affordable, and the three lenses you traded are also easy to come by without paying very much. (I wish the 2 cam lenses didn't use series filters, though -- that's the only drawback.)

Traded a Nikon F-100 and Tokina 80-200 f2.8 lens for a
M3 + Summicron dr lens. Been pretty happy 🙂 w/my decision.

i traded a 35/1.4 sc nokton for a kowa six system with 40/4, 80/2.8 and 150/4.5... but it was frontfocusing and the tech i took it to couldn't fix the problem, so we undid the trade. it was quite an amazing camera, despite being so heavy/big. sometimes i wonder if i should trade the lens for the kit again and take it to a competent tech to have it working perfectly...

After a long lay off from Leica SLR's I've recently got back in with an SL and SL2. They are definately the best MF SLR's I've ever had so I can understand your remorse!

Back in 1985 I traded 10 Knight Rider/David Husselfoh posters for an ice cream. Seemed dumb back at that time but now I think it was quite a good deal.

Hahaha awesome deal!

I bet the other party is still regretting that trade.

KoNickon,
The guy even gave me 20-25 rolls of color film from Ektar 25 to
Royal gold 100,400 and 1000. Several rolls of Fuji 200 since he was a pro
wedding photogarpher and did most of work w/Nikon digital. We were both
pretty satisfied at the time.
