I thought I would mention a few words as basically a follow-up to franks post a few threads down "OM-D fans" where he showed the E-M10 was coming.

I picked one up a week ago for a trip late next week and will leave my x-pro home. Here's what i can tell you so far.

The E-M10 is going to be one fun little camera. It's weight is solid and its build appears solid. I do alot of long exposure stuff and have been using the livetime and livecomp features. One of the main reasons I got the camera to watch the image come into view. I have the remote and will say that the rubber door on the side of the camera is flimsy but seals pretty firm when out in place.

As well as the kit lens, I purchased the 17 1.8. Love the build of this lens, and the manual clutch. The two together provide a small, compact, solid fun camera.

I had a E-P3 before I got my x pro some 18 or so months ago, the E-M10 just has so much going on for it. Oly menus are still a PITA, no getting around it, and I will set more of the Fn buttons to help ease that pain.

Right now I set my Fn1 to the Color Creator, which is cool, and my Fn 2 to the Teleconverter take me from a 35mm to 70mm in a quick click.
Peaking works well but only colors available right now are white and black.

I know this is the bottomed price OMD but it sure does not feel like it and if you don;t give it a chance you might be missing out. I looked at the E-M1 but it has grown in size and weight near my x pro. Add the 12-40 2.8 and you can definitely feel the weight.

I came from DSLR's and am for light and small, especially for traveling. Have to say that the more I use it, the more i like it.

So many people will overlook it since they feel its not the E-M1...mistake on there part...seriously. Me...i will carry it around all day and have a blast.

So for anyone interested in a compact, small, solid camera with the latest Oly offerings I encourage you to check one out. I will miss some of the black/white settings from my fuji but the color creator should should be fun to play with a bit.

keep shooting!!

Thank you for this post. I have thought about that camera and figured I 'd wait until the first price drop (they come quickly) to pick one up.

Also, the wi fi olympus share program has worked great on both my iPad and 5s. Have downloaded on the spot to share and used the remote function also. Usually I am all for having to have the highest end model out there. In this case downgraded doesn't seem to bother me a bit...and is a bit of a misnomer I think.

I had a look at one the other day, the camera is pretty nice. But considering the em5 is about the same price I'm not sure why I'd pick the em10, especially since I find the 5 axis IBIS the most interesting m43 feature. I'm sure it'll be coming down in price eventually, then I'll think about it.

Well it has the color creator and the livecomp which I will use a lot. I know the processor vii is different as well. Good lunch whatever you do...

The Price Drop?????

The Price Drop?????

The EM-10 IS THE PRICE DROP.....

Except for the 5 axis IBIS and weather resistance, it smokes the EM-1 on price. It is the Price Drop I have been looking for.

I expect EM-1 prices will slow, and this camera will be hard to come by for a bit. I'd get one now... and as soon as I have the money, I will. Maybe next month.

I don't really think a price drop on the EM-10 is as much in the works as price drops on the EM-1 will be.

Already sold my E-PL5 and IIR 14-42 for half the funding.
