Went and saw Echo & the Bunnymen last night. Great gig. Took the E-P1 with 50/1.4.

Extremely challenging as the stage lighting was nearly non-existent for most of the gig. I was hoping to not have to use the magnification for MF but because of the low light had no choice. Soon got the hang of it.

All shot at F2 and 2500 iso

Great shots John! Your pictures were a deciding factor in my acquisition of an EP-1. Having a competent camera as a tool is one thing but taking nice pictures is another story, please keep posting.

Very nice photos. The black and white convinces, too.

Yes, great band. Ian's filled out a little since the first time I saw him - when they had Eko, the drum machine, on a bill that included Joy Division, Teardrop Explodes, the Cabs, the Only Ones and PiL's public debut. Can't remember a damn thing about the night, though, apart from being chased down the streets by hippies.

Thanks for the kind words.

I've been following this band since I was a teenager and yes, Ian is looking a little fatter in the face. This is the third time I have seen them in the last couple of years and they sounded the best yet.

Just wish they had a better light show for photography. Maybe Ian doesn't want to be lit up too much these days :)

Really impressed with E-P1. 2500 iso worked well considering at time I could hard make out any facial detail from the crowd.

I took a short video of the chorus of 'Lips like sugar' and was pleasantly surprised.

Ahhh, Joy Division - lucky guy. Saw New Order some years ago. Another fav band of mine.

I'm glad that you were able to get some info prior to buying. Hope it hasn't disappointed :) Love to see your shots as well...

Great photos! Just bought the zuiko 50/1.4 so I can use it on my E-P1. Seeing these photos gives me hope I can get some good results in low light.

I thought i was the only youngster who likes this music, i always assumed rangefinder users only liked classical music and jazz!

No classical or jazz in my house! :)

At 43, I was one of the youngest at the gig. Echo & the Bunnymen started in the late 70's early 80's. I was 18 in 1983 so they were part of my formative music years.

These are some great shots. What mode do you use when shooting with legacy lenses, Aperture priority, Shutter priority, Manual ??? I am amazed what some folks can do with a camera in challenging lighting. Thanks for posting.....
