Check out this listing -- do you think this is real or fake?

The body seems awfully convincing. The lens itself has me second guessing. For example, you see 50mm instead of 5cm and the glass is crystal clear. Although it seems similiar to this lens:

Also, the price for the set seems low.. In any case, what do you think?

Thanks all.

Everything about the body looks right to me. I see no red flags at all. I'd say it's the genuine article. The lens is an early version, before they changed the infinity position of the focusing tab to the lower quadrant. I'm not sure about the 50mm engraving, but I think they did mark them both ways during the long production of this lens. My copy of Lager is in the basement, and I'm on the 2nd floor. I'll try to look up the lens tomorrow.

That's a very nice looking II with early 11 o'clock Elmar, and for a very, very good price indeed. I know someone here who would've been thrilled to have it.... (John!)

Congratulations to the buyer!

Congrats Takizawa, that is a nice early Leica II with true Elmar 3.5/50mm.

Almost identical to mine, which is a 71xxx serial number. Good find, good price! Happy shooting!

PS chances are it will not take Leica-made, reloadable FILCA cassettes, but the earlier KAZAM cassettes. And 'ordinary' film cassettes go in too, luckily! 😉

Amazing, just saw it's number 85510 is very close to my 1932 vintage II that has #85477. What's the number on the Elmar? Mine is 131144.

I will have to wait until the camera arrives to determine the number on the Elmar. Again, thanks all. It was your quick responses that gave me that extra bit of courage to hit the Buy it Now button on Ebay. I'll keep you posted when the camera arrives.
