Unfortunately stuff like this this isn't in the public conscious. Either that or Earth needs a better PR person. 🙂
In all seriousness, it's too bad only 1 hour is dedicated to respecting our home. Shouldn't every hour be Earth hour?
I will say that the before and after photos of Las Vegas are dramatic.

Earth hour is meant to conserve power therefore reducing effect of carbon emissions on the atmosphere, correct?
Seems to me mass hysteria is peaking with this whole greenhouse thing. Unfortunately the earth hasn't warmed since 1998 and if anything has cooled since then. I know it's huge in the media, but there is a LOT of proof and a LOT of very smart people (with no motive - eg: grant money) who think 'global warming' is blown waaaay out of proportion.
