got my eagerly awaited used r2 in the mail today. it's been in my wishlist for awhile...although it was a toss up between it or the bessa t. i mostly shoot 50mm or wider street photography and thought the r2 just looked up to the task. luckily, mine has an accurate rangefinder unlike some threads on the r2 i've read. apart from it's beautiful ergonomics, i found that it was amazingly light but very noisy shutter. so much for the unobtrusive candid shots. with my LTM and old voigtlander prominent, i am able to shoot at least 3 shots before my subject would become aware. with the r2, i think the subject along with his/her extended family would jump after the first shot!!
i've also noticed that the strap lugs are in an awkward position so that the lenses point upwards. lucky that the shutter is not cloth! despite my complaints, i think this beautiful camera will yield more printable frames per roll than my other meterless RFs purely due to its meter than my usual guesstimation. the other good thing is that it arrived on the same day as my CV 21/f4. time to go scare some people with my shutter noise.
