I am not an expert in religious matters but I think the Orthodox churches are more visually
engaging. Since many Orthodox churches in Eastern Europe continue to celebrate mass in
Greek or Church Slavonic -languages not understood by the majority of non-Greek believers,
they are using a 'story-board' method to get their messages across:

Caldarusani Monastery, Snagov, Romania. July 2014.

In March, 1990 I toured six countries in Eastern Europe on assignment for an NGO. I wrote about the trip on my blog, beginning this past March 11th. http://alifeinphotography.blogspot.com/2020/03/eastern-europe-1990-east-berlin-and-wall.html

I used to stay in cabins like this on the shores of Lake Balaton when I was working in Hungary during the mid-90s. Very nice memories. I came back to this area many years later
and, unfortunately, found a sprawl of hotels, spa's and conference centers. Cheers, OtL

I discovered this bar in the back alley in the center of Warsaw. IThe beer was cheap, and quite often was empty.

I sure did a double take when I saw this. Waffen SS and Poland; not a good combination. (Waffen SS and anyplace, come to think of it.)
