Eastern Europe

I realized pictures in this thread create somewhat false image of the region, mostly because decay is very photogenic but also we do chase nostalgia and remnants of the past. I don't even go Downtown to make pictures, cause I don't care.

Small town in Lithuania where I grew up. Lithuania is a catholic country, but one can find there some orthodox churches as well. Mamiya C330, expired Fuji Velvia:

Agreed, not nostalgia. Just neglect. Cheers, OtL

We are suffering from neglect in England too. It started some years ago when the Govt. decided that tax cuts were good and everyone would benefit from a more efficient use of tax payers' money. Alas, they did it year after year and the result is chaos.

So roads are pot-holed, paths are blocked and so on. And then there's the flooding...

I dare say that many other countries have the same problems; especially since Govt's usually go looking for the cheapest solution, that means pot holes growing in repaired potholes...

Regards, David

It's photogenic, I agree. The light, the colurs of the building, the two orange windows. Just curious when was the photo taken?

Two fishermen in a small village in Evia island - Greece.
August 2017
Kodak TMax 400 in HC110
Nikon F801

This fisherman has caught some stingray fish and sells his catch on the village's port

Another fisherman mending his fishing line. A very friendly chap, we had a discussion about how is it like being a fisherman in a poor area of Greece - especially in winter.
