Eric, I mean on this site since I joined in 2007, and that is not meant to demean any of the other fine work on this thread and on this site. If I had taken this, the best print I could make would be framed and hanging.

Eric, I mean on this site since I joined in 2007, and that is not meant to demean any of the other fine work on this thread and on this site. If I had taken this, the best print I could make would be framed and hanging. In the face of so much negativity and strife in the world, this picture really stopped me for a good look.

Thank you, Franko, I'm really happy to hear this!

Erik.

Fun fact about this image: The round white hole on the mountain seen on the top left corner is 5 mins drive from where i grew up.

I appreciate nostalgia as much as the next man. The problem is that you can't live in it.

Yes I like nostalgia too. Problem is they don't make nostalgia like they used to. :) :) :)

Actually on second thought, maybe they do - if you have watched "Madmen" when the series was playing it was very nostalgic though I was too young for much of the stuff depicted. And what is more they had an entire sequence on nostalgia in the story line - and its focus was on the role played by Photography in creating nostalgia. In the scene they are putting an ad campaign pitch to the Eastman Kodak folks................... and Don Draper who is making the pitch has recently broken up with his wife and family and is feeling nostalgic and leverages it in his pitch. It is one of my favorite scenes in the entire series. It is beautifully executed and evocative.
