Thanks, Erik. I am enjoying your pictures on this thread -you went twice! Old-school Canon DSLR's and Canon L glass. As far as I recall: the EOS 1D Mark III -it had a design shutter problem which Canon repaired within days, and the EOS 5D Mark II. The lenses: the L 2.8/16-35, and the L 2.8/24-70.

It's funny you ask, since I was also pleasantly surprised by the look and feel of these pictures and asked people on this forum whether I should be looking for a later model Canon body, and re-use the Canon glass, again.

The bodies and lenses are currently in a cupboard on another continent and whenever we will be able to travel, I've decided to bring the lot to Vietnam and to take it from there.

Thanks! In general I'm not a fan of color photography, but I find the colors in your shots here really good, quite realistic. Usually color photography has no realism at all - in my eyes.

Reaction on the picture of Kamil:

I'm surprised by this fantastic shot with the Kiev 4 by Kamil. Impressive lens too, this Helios 53/1.8. Is this a print or a scan from the negative? Both the high lights and the deepest blacks are very well controlled. Chapeau. I'm going to use my Kiev again.

One dominant feature in the urban environment of Chisinau was the existence of 'city heating'. The authorities built a huge power plant which fed the entire city with hot water through lines that were partially below, and above ground. A recurring question during the Autumn months was: "when will 'they' turn on the heating". During my stay in Moldova, I followed the hot water lines:

Thank you Erik! This is scan from negative made by Meinfilmlab. Indeed Helios 103 is a great lens. Kiev4 and Zorki 4K were my first RF cameras - I was so amazed by the quality of the photos that it evolved into a long lasting relationship with the rangefinder cameras.
