How would you rate Eastland's Leica-M-Compendium?
Is it good? What's its content? Any hint is appreciated.

It's ok. A bit dated, now. There are some factual howlers.

Thanks so far, Bill.
I had a very short look into it in one of the local libraries today, but put it away quickly because this copy was quite greasy. And this did not feel that good, if you know what I mean.

I do!
I don't have my copy to hand, but IIRC, Eastland suggests that moving the frame selector lever allows you to effect the metering area (it doesn't), and that the Visoflex III cannot be used with later Ms (it can). That said there are interesting chapters on lens selection, on the history of the M, and on using Novoflex and Nikon lenses. It's a personal view rather than a dry textbook, and is all the better for that. Sorry I can't be more specific - been a while since I thumbed through!

Very helpful, Bill. Thanks agai.
I think there's one in English on the German bay recently. Maybe I'll be lucky.
