Eastman Double-X available in 120 format!

I wonder how they came into getting this. Perhaps it's IMAX film. I'm wondering if it is truly 5222/7222 emulsion on the estar base and not something different. I can't see Kodak doing anything more than a limited run of this film as as it is already a niche product, even in film schools these days. More power to them and I hope it sticks around!
As for the write-up, I disagree with the look Plus-X was a very fine grained film while XX is the opposite, but its smooth tone comes from the fact that it is meant to be transferred to MP print and the image flickering 24 times per second, giving the illusion of smoothness. As a still film, it's great, but fine grained, it is certainly not. I do love it so though...
If you want smooth grain at similar speeds, 7266 rated as negative is excellent. It's Tri-X but is a much newer film and is great to shoot as negative. It's like the difference between 35mm Tri-X and 100 TMax.
