Hello Guys & Girls
Watch out for this scam on eBay. Theyask that you contact them through a different email address and not through eBay. It keeps poping up and eBay keeps getting rid of it. The body serial number is 119457. Maybe they have hacked other eBay accounts, as the seem to have a good eBay score, like currently under Item number: 320058081721 - rootlingflipflop( 53).

thanks for the tip. The item has already been removed from eBay, although from what you describe, it will probably resurface soon.

I bid on one of the incarnations of that one myself. The item was removed and my bid was cancelled.

I used the 'Contact Seller' feature to ask why my bid had been cancelled, and received the following reply from "Richard Morando":

I have stoped the auction because I have so many offers from different
ebayers and I
dont know who is who and what item wants everyone.I get more and more
confused...
If you want the item , please mail me soon and we will have a deal.

Thank you

So I think you can see what's going on. I tried to report this to eBay as a "trading outside of eBay" violation -- but its item number showed up as invalid, and it's just about impossible to file a complaint using eBay's automated system unless you have a valid item number.

The first week I started selling on Ebay, someone hacked my account and started selling Ford Mustangs. This is in the last 45 days.

Ebay did catch on fairly quickly but it screwed up my account for several days.

It's back again. Search ebay for 7sz and there it is. I've had my account hacked also. Fortunately, I had a couple dozen items up and was on it hourly. The scam only lasted a couple hours. I think it may have been the result of having a simple login password like "ebayebay". Anyway, it does seem like more and more hacking and scamming happening. It was bad enough dealing with rotten sellers and stupid buyers- now we need to be wary of items listed by "legitimate" sellers. Gotta read the fine print and do the research....

Just FYI - the most secure passwords will start with one or two (better) numbers followed by alternating capital and lower case letters and perhaps even a symbol. Try to stay away from using any words as hackers and hacking software will search for common words. If you do use a word, it's best to use a foreign word or obscure name. This is what I've learned from top security people.

Warmest regards for a nice holiday season,
Alex

Just yesterday I saw the same camera. Scammers, changed Ebay accounts 3 times in 1 hour ! That very same 7sz # 119457.

Scammers on BAY "selling" a 7sz

Scammers on BAY "selling" a 7sz

Watch out ! The scammers want you to email outside of Ebay. This was the same camera listed months ago on Bay. Serial #119457. They changed Bay accounts 3 times in 1 hour.

I have reported this scam to eBay at least 10 times over the past two months. To eBay's credit, the posting is usually deleted in an hour or two. This scammer is persistent, but not very bright, often posting the exact same ad under 3 or 4 seller names simultaneously. You think that this guy would steal an ad for a different item to use for this scam

Oh it's not that they are not bright, they just don't care. All about maximizing income-to-effort ratio. And not everyone checks, they're looking for those suckers.
