I had a lens posted on ebay which closed a few minutes ago. Before it even closed a scammer had copied my description and photos and listed it on a hi-jacked account then contacted the high bidder on mine and offered it to him for $650.

You need to contact eBay now and let them know what happened. Also contact the buyer to give him the same information.

I notice some ebay auctions have the bidders shown as bidder 1, bidder 2, etc. Is that an option for the seller to use?

It looks as though someone got scammed. I received an email not from the high bidder asking if I got the Western Union money order. I told the person he would have to report it to eBay since he got scammed..
My auctions clearly state not once but twice that I only accept paypal.
