I took off Saturday morning and headed for Glendo, Wyoming for the upcoming eclipse. I had seen a few eclipses before, but I've never seen a full eclipse.
I set up camp about 30 miles west of Glendo in Medicine Bow National Forest. As I had a couple of days to kill before the eclipse, I took many photos. All around camp.
I figured I'd post a few here and make a little thread about my long weekend.

I brought my dad and nephew along. My nephew in an aspiring photographer. I've given him one of my older DSLR's to use, but he prefers his phone.

Our camp site was very nice, right on the edge of a mountain. There was plenty of opportunities for photography. I took this shot as I was finishing eating up dinner sitting under a tree.

That first night was spent looking at the heavens. I've been to a lot of dark sky sites, but I have never seen the Milky Way so bright. Many of the deep space objects were visible to the naked eye. There were some sky glow and lights in the distance, but you nearly always get that when shooting from a mountain top.
We made the most of the night, shooting many photos and watching countless meteorites streak across the sky.

Up next, more night photography, then the Eclipse!
