A few weeks ago I spotted an Eddie Ephraums book "Creative Elements", in a used bookstore. I had seen his name come up in this forum, but I didn't know anything about him. For those still using a wet darkroom, it's a very inspiring and useful book, offering an alternative viewpoint (for me, brought up on Adams et al) of landscape photography. Although he has a number of other books, I haven't been able to find any bio information on him. He has a 2005 book called Darkroom to Digital, so he has made that transition. The last reference I see is a 2008 book that he edited. But how does he currently work? Anybody know?

Thankyou Chris. I thought I might get a response from you. What I was specifically wondering is whether he is still using wet darkroom or has gone totally digital. The link you provided indicates that he uses both.

I enjoyed a quick look around your site. I've bookmarked it for a more leisurely view later on.

I think he does some publishing work for various magzines and book layouts for various people on request. As to whether he still uses film/darkroom I don't know.

At this point I scan only for archiving purposes and to get a "quick look", but I have ordered Darkroom to Digital all the same, plus his book on the creative uses of VC paper. The main thing about the book was that I hadn't before seen anyone take that approach to landscape photography, (given the mid 90's publishing date it shows how long I have been away from photography). His description of how he uses Farmer's Reducer, and the extensive formulas section at the back, is the best I've seen.

The "Creative Elements" is one of a kind book that I kept going back to.

I personally find it a pity that Mr. Ephraums seems to have abandoned his darkroom work and going into digital. Even his contribution in Tim Rudman's "World of Lith" is a digital 'lith-print' 😕
