My apologies if this problem has been addressed before. I just finished developing a roll of 120 Acros in Rodinal using the stand method which I have done on many occasions previously. The individual frames, as far as I can see at this point, look just fine. But the edges, and the area in between the frames, are fogged, not clear. I'm stumped at this point as to what could be causing this. Bad fixer?

I just tested the fixer with Edwal Hypo Chek and no precipitate formed. Seems to be OK. What next? Light leak in the change bag?

Cheers...

Fog, if that's what you have, can be caused by serious heat exposure. If the exposure you see is at the edges and in-between the frames, it would seem the film was fogged by something. Is it just one roll? Buy a new roll of film that is fresh. Test it in your camera, and process it. If the same thing happens, shoot another and have it processed by an outside source. That will tell you if it's your camera or your processing or if something happened to your film. You must isolate the trouble.. film, camera or processing..

maybe, I tought you just put the film on the reel in the toilets/bathroom, well somewhere with no windows 😀

if the fog is black it seems that you have not enought tighten the paper of the film 😀

I agree, try to re fix and then re wash. Always test your fixer if old with a film clip for clearing, before trusting it.

OK...I'm a little unclear on the concept here, not having ever used this method. I clipped a piece of leader from some current film direct from the refrigerator and put it in the fixer. It never cleared. Turned somewhat milky, but never cleared. Does that provide me with the answer? If so, I must then conclude that the Edwal Hypo Chek is NG.

Cheers...
