Eduardo Pavez Goye - fantastic Youtube channel!

I’ve watched his show grow. It’s never been better! I like the no BS approach.

He’s pretty darn good at squeezing the magic out of each camera.

seconded! he’s got a nice stage presence.

but i always skip the boring part of these youtube camera reviews where they go around taking photos. it’s so 2017.

Him taking photos is the best part for me as he shows
every one in the video the moment it was taken. So we can see how his positioning and view point is immediately translated to the scene. And also how the film and camera handles that scene - lighting and exposure.

I enjoy his videos, once in London doing street photography he almost gave up as everyone was hurrying along looking only at their phones. It's a pleasant change not to have advertorial new gear reviews of the same stuff.

Another channel, mostly landscape, of which I am very fond is that of Steve O'Nions (not onions!) who is extremely dry humoured and goes through each important shot.

It is one of few photographic YT channels I follow. Solid content, good amount of humor and he does not give me cringes unlike some more popular channels do.

What a great video ... thanks for sharing this. I'm an instant fan! :)

I watched the linked video where he reviews the Olympus XA. He's holding it wrong! Wrap the fingers of your left hand across the top of the camera, and use your left thumb to adjust the focus. Trying to focus the camera with the index finger is an exercise it total frustration.

Other than, it was good video.

I don't follow. I'm trying to picture this but I hold the camera like I hold any camera, and would focus with my right index finger.

I advance, focus and frame, then taking it. If no rush, not sure, I frame, advance and frame, focus.

If right eye is in use, your right hand is holding camera and pressing shutter release. Left is for focus.

I'm talking about regular RF, not Moskva-5. ;)

Just like Him:

If I focus with my right finger it is AF. :D

Gotcha, that's how I do it too. Funny you mention the Moskva5 because that camera really turns me around!

Some of those shots could be tighter, and in one of the better shot, he cuts the dancer's shadow off. Ugh
