Jun 30, 2024 - Photography is a vehicle for storytelling; capturing a moment in time yet allowing for endless possibilities of interpretation. Fill The Frame tells the story not only within the frame of photographs, but of the people behind the camera. The film follows eight esteemed street photographers in New York to get an exclusive look at their work and their own unique journeys. The photographers featured are Dimitri Mellos, Jonathan Higbee, Julia Gillard, Lauren Welles, Mathias Wasik, Melissa Breyer, Melissa O’Shaughnessy, & Paul Kessel.

Fantastic and inspirational; worth watching for anyone who aspires to, or considers himself or herself to be a street photographer; the video accompaniment also is excellent.

Here is always same cliché in this kind of videos, since one with HCB acting like a sprinting crane bird on camera.

To me as someone who was taking photos on the street these "moment! - you have to run like maniac" narratives are repeatedly primitive. Dimitri acting like Eric Kim on his educational videos.
I get it, this is NYC. It is common for every megapolis to have unstable people on the streets.

But don't take it as the manual. Running and gunning as on event style is not always capturing this moment on the street. Often it is capturing deer in the headlights moments.

And don't run into mothers with kids in the strollers, just because it was easy to film for videos like this.
