Eizo CG223W vs...

Hi!
I sold my laptop to finance a PC with a proper calibrated screen. As for screen...I found a decent offer for a used Eizo CG223W-BK. The only thing holding me back is its low (1680 : 1050) resolution, but all else seems really good.
The price is within my 450 Euro limit. Are there any alternatives that have higher resolution amd easy calibration?

I wouldn't buy a used screen. They lose brightness as they age, and eventually get to the point where they can no longer be calibrated. A used one may be for sale because its owner knows its on its last legs.

I have exactly that model. It's as good as it gets. Color, accuracy etc. I recently tested the LG 31MU97 (31" 4K monitor) and was quite disappointed by the LG. Color shifts, very limited viewing angles, bleeding etc.

But I understand your concern about the low resolution. With todays high resolution options, it might be worth to look at other options. From what I have heard, the NEC monitors are also highly praised as a cheaper alternative to the Eizo models.

Personally, I have decided to wait and save up money for the new 24" 4K Eizo monitor that should come out any day now. It will be prohibitively expensive, so I may have to save for a while... but I do have an old old IBM T221 (an experimental 4K monitor from about 10 years ago) next to my Eizo and can at least enjoy the 4K resolution on that, even though not in such great colors and perfection as the Eizo...
