Picked up a cache of free expired film that has resided in a 30°F refrigerator for awhile (2000-2005).
What has been everyone's experience with the expired former Ektachrome? Also...,There is a bunch of Provia... I will be trying test rolls of each very soon so I am interested in your results!
Thank you in advance!

Depending on age, and storage, there can be some not so pleasing haze.

And some much better colours with a more recently expired (~2014), and cold stored E100G. Also in the EC-TL, with a 5cm f3.5 Nikkor.

There is no general rule, unfortunately, which always fits.
It is really dependent on the storing conditions.
Long expired film, which has not been permanently cold stored or refrigerated, can be a game: Maybe you have luck, maybe you have not.
For important shots I would always use fresh film, or film I has cold stored myself.

This unplanned double exposure was expired Ektachrome. I have a good stash of MF and 4X5 left.
An 'accident'. (Note to self: reverse the slide after exposure. DOH!) by Kenny Johnson, on Flickr

Love that double exposure, may have been an accident but really really worked out There's clearly still good expired Ektachrome around, along with the orange hued kind.
