Ektachrome is Back!

Ektachrome is Back!

Thoughts? Desires? Do you think the emulation will be changed any? Or will it be E100G? Hopefully this also encourages Fuji to stop discontinuing films

This is such great news! It is true as Kodak announced via their social media channels. E100G was an excellent stock. I much preferred to to Provia.

Jaw dropping.

There were rumours that Jeff Clarke liked some reversal ciné projections in small format. Now, the thing is that Jeff is EK and not Alaris.
Nevertheless, wow!
EDIT: It's quite shocking that I didn't read the press release thoroughly, it's coming in s8 as well.

I hope it's E100G. That film was killer, such great skin tones and very neutral. With Provia I am always having to warm it up with filters even if there is just a hint of shadow.

Great news!

I've never been a slide shooter but I shot a few rolls of Ektachrome G100 maybe five years ago. I cross processed a few of those rolls in C41 chemicals with excellent results.

I was just looking at my Sensia slides from 2008- first time in years- and was amazed how great they looked. Way better than digital. But... I hope its affordable as shooting e6 costs about $30 a roll w/ processing around here. I will definitely try it out, though.

I'll be really excited if pricing comes in decently. It's just good in general for the film community. Hopefully they'll bring it in 120 shortly after as well.

Wow. Nice. Not a slide shooter here but the more such reintroduction the better.

I wish the reintroduction of old films not falling into any hype business as "analogue cameras" had been suffering from.

Plus: KODAK EKTACHROME Super 8 Film to support the adoption of its recently introduced KODAK Super 8 movie camera.

The way I read it the push is for the Super 8 and their new camera with top names lining up to support it:

Spielberg, Tarantino are fairly well known:

Note this was 2016, maybe we should have asked at the time what people were going to shoot in it?

That they may as well run some 35mm off, note one length only, as well, seems the answer despite the still photo press going "wild".

Maybe they will give the first roll to Steve McCurry ;) then let's see how well his team can photoshop it.

Yeah, Fuji's Velvia prices are getting crazy (12+ dollars a roll) hopefully some competition will help. I would pay $9.99 a roll for Ektachrome 36 exposure rolls.

that's awesome. hoping 120 to come soon after. more choices the better. just hope its not at $20 a roll. Im happy that they are bringing back old emulsions. maybe this means they could bring a few others back as well

still dreaming, but the 6 bath e-6 5l chem kit to go with it would make me a very very happy slide shooter

also not a big slide shooter but for sure will buy a few rolls to see , quite curious to see how it will look they must of have of tweaked-it for scanning just like the porters and Tmax
