I just received a large batch of old film which has been in a deep freeze for 15-20 years, including Kodak HIE, Ektachrome 1600, Konica print film and others. Most of the film I know what to do with, however there are 7 rolls of KODAK EKTAGRAPHIC HC, and 6 rolls of KODALITH III. I am not familiar with either of these films. Have you had any experience using them?

Kodalith is a very high contrast film. It basically gives solid black and solid white and no midtones. It can be used for some interesting effects. In art school, we used to print negs on it in the darkroom (its not sensitive to safelights, just like paper)

To get high contrast you have to use litho developer. D19 will give high contrast too but not as dense blacks as litho developer. It has a very slow iso.

Litho film was originally used to shoot negs for making printing plates and half tones for printing on a printing press. Everything is direct to plate now.

I have 100 foot of Kodalith, its good fun i shoot it between iso 8-25

this is iso12, developed in Ilfosol3
