What batteries are you guys using? I'm picking up my first Yashica Electro 35 GT soon and need batteries.
Also, is there anyone special that works on these- things like just cleaning the inside of the viewfinder?
Thanks for any help!

Have you looked at YashicaGuys web site.
Have you looked at YashicaGuys web site.
All things Yashica RF. special section on the G series. I think he sells or in detail explains the Yashica G battery situation.
I purchased an adapter from a fellow in Arizona, years ago, that turned out to be the base of a .410 shotgun shell, cut down to the brass base, with the primer punched out... a loose rivet in the primer hole as a contact, and a spring inside. A 6V battery just fit inside the shell and it worked Great. Actually that was for a Lynx E which was different than the G... sorry.
I bought two from him for $10. Haven't seen him for a few years.
Here is a link to the battery adaptor from Yashica Guy. Check it closely to see if its the one for your camera.

Another vote for the Yashica Guy. Bought one of his adapters last year for my GSN. Works great. (Though I'm pretty sure a handy person could put together their own adapter without too much trouble).

One CR123A battery + 2xLR44, work great without any adapter.
Instead 2xLR44, you can also use one CR1/3N.

Try not to mix batteries with different chemistry, which may cause overheating and leakage. Use lithium with lithium, alkaline with alkaline.

I've got several Electros. I think the best Electro battery adapter is the one sold on eBay by bennfoto
He has them listed most of the time; the item is available now.

You're right.
In that case best solution is CR123A + CR1/3N, without adapter or 4 x LR44 taped together with small spring to reach contact on battery cover.
Its not a rocket sience and work like a charm.

For 16 bucks currently you can't beat The Yashica Guys professionally done solution. Includes the battery and S&H. So 10 bucks saves a lot of fettling around.

Following up my own, with permission of the seller bennfoto, here is the adapter I like. It's rigid, it's easy to get the battery in and out, works like a champ. He has it listed frequently including now.
