I accidentally found a nice looking chrome 35 GX. I had never before seen the GX so naturally I just had to buy it. It didn't cost too much though. Batteries are missing so I can't test it but I ordered an adapter from the Yashica Guy. So wish me luck it works. Will post photos as soon as I get the battery adapter.

That's a great camera. For its size to me its my favorite in the Yashica line.
Shoot with 800 ASA and you have the perfect low light RF.

40mm lens in a compact package is great. I find myself carrying those small Electro's more often than full sized one.

Congratulations.
I love mine very much, 40mm is very sweet. I sold my GL that does 1600, but 800 is more than suffice for me most of the time.

Congrats! My aunt gave a pair (yes, 2 of it) of the GX more than 10 years ago and i kinda left it at home without using it as i was then starting out in photography with AF SLR. Recently i dug them out and sent one for CLA. I am in the second roll now and probably send the 2 rolls to develop when i am done with them. 
Hope the photo will turn out fine.

I found a black one yesterday for $10, I need to put some batteries it in and see if it works. The lens looks cruddy, but the good thing about the Yashica lenses is that they always seem to clean up nicely, no matter how much dirt or fungus I find.
Post some pics when you get them, I'll run a roll of film through mine once it's up and running.

Received a nifty battery adapter from the Yashica-guy. I installed a fresh set of batteries and - the camera works! I load it first with a roll of Superia 400. Stay tuned.

Wow! the lens of this camera is really nice. The first one is f/11 I think and the second is f/4 or thereabout. No sharpening or anything, straight out of the scanner, margins cropped and scaling.

what film? the pics look a bit overexposed and the colors are pretty wacky. could be the scanner though. do you use 1,4V batteries or 1,5V for the adapters?

Old and dated Fuji Superia. Colours are always a bit wacky with this film but I think exposures are Ok. I had to use a 2 stop ND for the upper one and the lower one is in the last rays of light. I'm using normal 1,5V cell batteries. I'm planning to load it with B&W film today or tomorrow.

Looks promising to me, and exposure looks good. I have black one. It's a handy size to carry around, and the lens is very capable. Using a hood helps with flare, which can be an issue with this lens.

I took two two hearing aid 1,4V batteries and stacked them together in a rubber hose. Just a little tin foil added between the batteries. The other side of the compartment was just patched with a bunch of small coins. Seems to work great. Does Yashica Guy's adapter transform the current? There's an adapter MR52 which seems to do that.
