You are in good company. It was Elliott Erwitt who has been quoted as saying "I’ll always be an amateur photographer” and “I’m an amateur photographer, apart from being a professional one, and I think maybe my amateur pictures are the better ones.” If you don't recognize the name, google it. I think you will like his photos and his quotes....
