Just saw this on another site.

Just when I thought I could rely on this film for 35mm as I love the results, similar to 100G but half the price I was wishing they would make it 120 size. With no Sensia no other options really, not keen on Provia. Also in UK Fuji have increased their prices for E6 to almost Kodak levels. Just got some Fuji 400X, nice film, 120 size for £18 at Mailshots dated to May '12, £24 plus at other suppliers.

I love E6 , shoot in preference to negative and can get it processed at less than £2.50 a roll 35 or 120, so not expensive, but getting worried now. Tried Ektar but found it horrible, difficult to scan, blue shadows, weird balance.

Even if I stock up on Elite what after?

How long before we can't get E100G and E100VS? Worst part is, E100VS is my *FAVORITE* film for one of my long term projects. There is nothing quite like a classic car shot with E100VS! I just hope the don't pull a Portra on the remaining Ektachrome films.

Darn, I like this stuff, I only have two or three rolls left:

Darn, I just bought four rolls to try out, after reading all the glowing comments here in recent months. And Fuji discontinued Neopan 1600 right after I bought rolls of that to try out. I better not try any more films out. I seem to be a jinx. 😱

This is getting serious. But of course, each film that drops out will increase demand for the remaining ones. At least a few ought to survive. Personally, I'm hoping Velvia, Tri-X, Delta 100 and Delta 400 will be around a long time.

I think that the idea of film totally disappearing is pretty ridiculous but I do worry about which ones will survive. More so with color than black and white. Pretty much any 400 speed B&W film I could cope with being "the only one" but when it comes to color negative Portra is really the only one I like that much :-/

Honestly I'll start worrying when Ilford starts dropping films. Kodak is down to basically 2 emulsions (4 speeds) for colour print, 2 for colour positive, and what 5 for B&W? How long before everything is special orders like most of the Large Format films? In the long run I think we'll be shooting stuff like Ilford and Adox.

In 35mm, try Kodak 5285 movie stock. Buy short ends and spool them yourself.

Yeah, just read. And prices for the 5-packs have already increased everywhere. Just a couple weeks ago I could've gotten 50 rolls for a mere 160 €, now it's 180 €. Nonetheless, I'm gonna order 10 5-packs right away and store them in the fridge. I seriously love this film!

Well that's just gutting news.

I won't be moving to E100G/VS, too expensive and little certainly on how much longer those will stick around for. Especially as including processing and mouting, the cost per 36 frames with E100G is up to £14.50. Too much for my wages.

I'll probably still run Ektar and Portra occasionally through my OM2n's but I think now It's time to start using digital for my colour work. I have had my eyes on the Lumix LX5 for some time anyway. Oh if I could afford a D700 but I'd probably get mugged with it!

Scuppers my AF film SLR plans somewhat too really as I use a lot of Elite Chrome since Kodachrome went the way of the dodo.

Storm clouds, September 2011 (Elite Chrome 100)

Damn!
Not only do they take our candies, but they insist on making us feeling guilty about it :bang::bang:

i then consider myself somewhat lucky as i just bought a load of 100 and 400--better to be lucky than good, eh? really my favorite slide film, and was so reaonably priced...oh well...

It's only a matter of time before we're sitting around remembering Tri-X ... I'm really starting to believe this! 🙁

I have little faith in Kodak sorry and have just made the move to Ilford HP5+.

Should have hung on to all those hundreds of metal tins I opened over the years that 100 ft rolls of Tri-X came in. Could have gotten rich selling 'em to collectors one day!

I would miss Tri-X. The day it's gone will be a sad one, indeed.

Is anyone using the re-introduced Agfa Precisa? At £3.85 a roll, that's half the price of Provia and a pound cheaper than Elite Chrome.

Where do you get E6 done at £2.50?

Honestly, other than Kodachrome and probably Velvia, I can't really tell the difference between positive films.

I think Ektachrome (the other -chrome left) is superb:
