Leica LTM Elmar (s) 9cm length

Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Ha, I was checking mine (your Series II), and I couldn't get it to go past 30 feet. Then I took the rear cap off. D'oh!

#10362xx LTM 3 element
74mm from bottom of flange to top of the 34mm filter ring
190 grams

PF

excuse me, that serial no. is from 1952, it is a 3 element and the serial you posted is wrong?

still confused/amazed by the variation in size and weight... :S

David's 1934: 71.6mm, 271gr (I assume it's black and uncoated)

sred2006's 1953: 73.7mm, 194gr

someone's 1956: ?mm, 280gr aprox, A36 front, ltm

mdarnton's 1961: 85mm, 270gr (E39 front and grooved for clip-on hood)

Rico's 1961: 85mm, 240gr (E39 front and grooved for clip-on hood)

3 elements:

Rico's 3 el.: 76mm, 220gr

farlymac's 3 el.: 74mm, 190gr (assuming the serial no. he provided has a typo. Otherwise should be a 4 el. from 1952)

.

Heavy for sure. Without apology to 'cron 50 DR fans, I claim the Elmar 90 collapsible is the best built M lens by Leitz. The mechanical interlocks are brilliant. I do prefer the other Elmars for casual walkabout. :)

Also, it's 43.5mm when collapsed into the body

If the lens is not mounted, it's 63mm total length when collapsed (no front or rear caps in these measurements)
