Elmarit 2,8/90 on R-D1s. Problems

I have put my 2,8/90 Elmarit from Leica on my R-D1s. Rangefinder doesnt work/ couple. The 90 works well on my M6 and the other Leica-lenses work well on R-D1s. Anybody knows this problem?

The rangefinder cam on the 90/2.8 is indeed wider than the brass circular cams on my other leica lenses. The cam wheel of the R-D1 will ride that wider 90/2.8 cam close to the edge of the cam wheel. If the wheel is positioned too low, I can see how there is a problem.
