Elmarit 90/2.8 cat picture

Just wanted to share with other R-D1'ers the great results of which this camera is capable.

This is the cat next door. A friendly type but doesn't sit still for long. Shot this using my 135mm Leitz bright lines viewer from about 5 feet. Set the 90/2.8 at f8 and approximately 5feet on the hyperfocal scale. Speed was 1/125 and in fact 2 stop faster than required by the light. Used Lightroom and CS2 to increase exposure and sharpen a tad.

In days gone by I would have attempted a shot like this with my D80 and 18-200vr lens but then I sold that to finance my R-D1/Leica lens habit. I believe I made the right choice.

I can't remember where I learned the procedure from.... I assume it must have been a help page in this forum or the Leica forum which is similar.

Basically, if you look at the icons at the top of a message window you will see what looks like a paperclip (next to the smiley). When you click on that it opens a form which allows you to select and upload pictures from your PC. Once you have uploaded your pictures, you will see next to the paperclip a small 'pull down' arrow, this will drop a list of your uploaded pictures. Click on the one you want to insert into your message. Hope that helps - perhaps someone else can link to the relevant help thread.
