For a few weeks, I had a Tele-Elmarit 90 f2.8 and used it sparingly. Check this one out...

Made with an M4-2. Here's the first...

And here's the second

BTW, I used Kodak BW400TC for these two.

I have one which from memery I dated to around 1960 based on its serial number (in chrome.) Golly its a nice lens both build wise and optically. I have it with a dealer at the moment to sell to fund another aquisition but I am seriously thinking about pulling it and keeping it for myself. I have owned it for 10 years or more and I have been consistently impressed with the sharpness and contrast of its images. I cannot speak highly enough. Unfortunately I am working interstate at the moment and do not have access to my home computer to get some shots to post.

I've had three 90mm f/2.8 Elmarits, all of them the first version. The first one, chrome, I traded for a black chrome. Then I sold it to get my current 90mm f/2 Summicron pre-asph.

Well, I've been kicking myself ever since then, and then got it here from David Murphy, a very nice black-chrome sample, flawless. Just need to find a hood.

Here are a few with with various Ms; all wide-open.

There are for sure many nice 90mm lenses for rangefinder cameras. I liked this picture right after made it, taken last spring with a chrome 90mm Elmarit 2.8 that had been sitting around.

Thin version Tele-Elmarit. Extremely light and easy to focus.

I find this a very nice lens to use, except that it flares badly against a strong light source.

f2.8 is fine, f4 is excellent on my version.

I like the latter two particularly. Shooting with the 90 and such shallow dof, I am often afraid to frame the foreground with something out of focus because it can easily become obtrusive. You nailed it just right here I think.

FWIW, I find that with both thin or fat tele, f3.5 works to reduce flare as well (provided you use a lens hood :).
