Elvis touched my Bessa

Some day, some one will note that the piece of equipment they are pawning off on ebay to support one of their vices was owned by me. And, almost all who read the auction description will say the same thing I just did....

How about my M2 having been touched by Mongolians, (far off) decendants of the great Chinggis Khaan? Does that count? :)

I have an Olympus SPn that was once in the same convenience store as Mary Tyler Moore.

Yes, it's true - who will start the bidding at $1,000?

It is missing the leatherette and has broken bits all over, but again, Mary Tyler Moore, people.

Elvis saw MY Vivitar 283. It lit up the entire Capital Center where he was giving a concert. Only time in my life I spent hours waiting for tickets. I took my girlfriend in '74 and her Mom, who saw him in the '50s.

Gotta find those slides.

The flash still works, but I had to replace the foot with a metal one. It will still light up a concert hall.

The 283 created as much light as a small nuclear warhead. A 283 mounted on a Vivitar 450/SLD w/ a Copal Square generally scared anyone in front of it off their feet.

I don't think a lightning bolt could make as much noise and light as that combo.

Agh! There goes the value. Ya changed the foot! Oh, I was so ready to start the bidding at $500! man.....

Anyone have sweat from Elvis?

My wife was once offered a sample of Elvis's liver by a pathologist. She decline then, but regrets it now.

I have a Fed 5b that was never seen or touched by Henry Kissenger. Should be worth a lot.

Approximatley 3-4 weeks before the death of Stevie Ray Vaughn, I was in a nightclub in Arlington, Texas where Stevie was appearing at a live radio broadcast. I believe the name of the club was the Bahama Beach Club. Anyway, a group of friends from work and I went and all I had on me was on Olympus XA. I was only able to shoot just a couple of frames of Stevie doing an interview with the radio DJ ( I believe is name was Redbeard). I wasn't as close as I would have liked, but the shots were okay. I will see if I can find the negs- it was color negative film -and try to post a shot. There was really only one good shot that came out as I recall. Of course at the time that I took these shots, no one knew what was coming. Life can be strange sometimes.

Ok, IF he is still lurking out there....I bet he touched one.... at least once...

Does that increase my value?

:p

That's nothing. I once read in the National Enquirer, that Elvis is alive & well, in Dodge City, on Mars! Well I'm here to tell you that this isn't true. I know, because not too long ago, while street shooting in downtown Portlands, Saturday Market, I ran into him. Upon seeing me and my camera, he broke into a rendition of "Shoot Me Tender, and You Ain't Nothing But A Film Dog." I figured that nobody would believe me, so I made this image to prove it...

Bidding for a print of this historical and sentimental image, starts at $100.00, and ends in three days.

$500 and I want the negative and copyrights and grant of rights and roll of film and the envelope the negatives came in, maybe the camera too. How close did you get to him. The lens might be fine.... :)

I was a few feet from him. Alright! We have a starting bid of $500.00. Just three days of bidding. Get on it guys! As you can see, his jumpsuit is a bit tighter these days...

This reminds me of the film "The Commitments" where the dodgy saxophone session player (Jimmy?) relates his studio gig with Elvis to the star-struck parents of a kid in the soul band. A wonderful scene! :)
